Curriculum Development Workshop: Smart Systems Design

The first Curriculum Development workshop of the ELEGANT Project on the topic of Smart Systems Design took place at Staffordshire University on 5 October 2020. Dr. Abdel Hamid, Associate Professor of Signal Processing and Telecommunication at Staffordshire University conducted this Workshop. Twenty colleagues from partner universities attended the Workshop.
The main aim of the workshop was to introduce practical real-life systems design and how different aspects of technology and computer science and engineering can contribute to the systems design for a variety of applications. The application areas, including the existing challenges which can be harnessed by existing technologies, were introduced to produce solutions for the challenges in the proposed area.
This was followed by a presentation about how Staffordshire University has built its curricula to support the graduates to be well prepared to join the labour market. The focus of the workshop will be on Computing and Engineering curricula.

The presentation was followed by a discussion session with the participants from partner universities in Jordan and Lebanon.

The workshop lasted three hours (10.00-13.00).
